Accreditation & Our Kingdom Commitment

The King’s Commission School of Divinity exists first and foremost to equip men and women for faithful service within the Kingdom of God. We believe theological education should reach beyond academic achievement and professional credentials, cultivating pastors, scholars, and ministry leaders whose lives reflect the character, teachings, and mission of Jesus Christ.

As believers, we recognize the continual tension between the values of this world and the calling of God’s Kingdom. Our desire is to prepare students who increasingly embrace a Kingdom-centered understanding of life, leadership, and ministry. This conviction shapes every aspect of our educational philosophy, including our approach to accreditation.

We recognize the value of academic accountability, institutional standards, and traditional accreditation. However, we have also witnessed Christian institutions face increasing pressure to modify their theological convictions and educational practices in response to changing cultural expectations. While we respect the decisions of other institutions, TKC has intentionally chosen a different path. We believe Christian theological education should remain free to uphold biblical convictions without being compelled to conform to standards that may conflict with its spiritual mission. Our commitment is to academic excellence within a framework that places the authority of Scripture and allegiance to Jesus Christ above institutional recognition.

For this reason, The King’s Commission maintains its independent, international ecclesiastical accreditation through the International Association of Theological Schools – Council for Accreditation (IATSCA). This relationship supports our commitment to academic integrity, educational accountability, and ongoing institutional development while preserving our freedom to remain distinctly Kingdom-centered. IATSCA accreditation is independent of accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Accordingly, TKC degrees are primarily intended for Christian ministry and religious vocations, and their acceptance for academic transfer, employment, or professional licensing is determined by the receiving institution or organization. Prospective students should verify any specific recognition requirements relevant to their educational or professional goals.

Ultimately, our conviction is that academic excellence and spiritual formation belong together. TKC remains committed to developing biblically grounded pastor-scholars who think deeply, interpret Scripture faithfully, and serve the Church with wisdom and humility. We value meaningful academic accountability, but our highest allegiance remains to Jesus Christ and the Kingdom we have been called to serve.
