Fall 2026 Cohort Offerings

This fall, we are especially excited about our weekly TKC virtual cohorts. Over time, these gatherings have become one of the most formative parts of the TKC experience—not simply places to receive information, but spaces where leaders are shaped through conversation, Scripture, prayer, mentorship, and shared life. The Hebrew root לָמַד (lamad), “to learn,” is also the root behind תַּלְמִיד (talmid), “disciple.” Biblically, learning was never merely the accumulation of knowledge; it was formation into a way of life. A talmid learned by walking closely with a teacher, absorbing not only what was taught but how that teacher lived. That is the heart behind our cohorts: leaders learning together, sharpening one another, and being formed for faithful Kingdom service. Honestly, this may be one of the very best things TKC offers. Classes will be offered on Tuesday Nights from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. First class will be October 6th and the Last class will be November 24th (8 Sessions total)

- Preaching as shepherding rather than performing
- Character, prayer, humility, and responsibility
- Teaching, preaching, testimony, exhortation, and prophecy
- Reading the room as well as reading the text
October 13 — From the Ancient World to the Modern World
- Exegesis before application
- Literary, historical, ANE, and Second Temple context
- Avoiding proof-texting, anachronism, and word-study fallacies
- Finding the governing claim of a passage
October 20 – Guest Speaker
October 27 — Jesus and the Biblical Story
- Preaching Christ without forcing Jesus artificially into every detail
- Creation, covenant, kingdom, exile, new creation
- Moving beyond moralism and isolated propositions
- How different genres bear witness to Christ
November 3 — Building the Message
- Central claim, purpose, movement, tension, and resolution
- Expository, narrative, topical, and dialogical approaches
- Introductions, illustrations, transitions, and conclusions
- Creating an outline that serves the text rather than controlling it
November 10 — Communicating as a Shepherd
- Speaking with authority without becoming authoritarian
- Application without manipulation
- Addressing pain, disagreement, and difficult subjects
- Voice, pacing, presence, storytelling, and appropriate vulnerability
November 17 – Guest Speaker
November 24 — Sermon Workshop
- Each student delivers a 10–15 minute message
- Peer and instructor feedback
- Evaluate biblical faithfulness, clarity, pastoral tone, and application
- Revise the message after receiving feedback
